that same night was also a plan to have a night out with the guys (jerry, nito, nick, macky, rolly). rolly didn't make it tho'. after the courtesy meet, a downpour so we were stuck at the covered court for an hour or so. jerry was catching up with nick and i was having a chat with erl pabellon (7T9). it was a coincidence that she worked as well in PCA, my workplace for 2 1/2 years. when it got darker, Dr. Austria invited us to his office and had a brief chat again. there was an acoustic piano in his room. tried to give some entertainment but the piano needed some re-tuning.
jerry, nick and i waited for nito and macky but only nito made it to the school.
when the rain subsided, we took a cab which took us to quezon av. to one of the restaurants/bars there (west 6th). the guys persisted on texting macky and rolly to come over. macky made it but rolly had earlier commitments so he passed.
seeing them again after many many years feels more than great! looks and physique might have not changed that much.... parang high school pa rin sila sa tingin ko! but the maturity and subtleness in the way they speak really made me wonder??? c'mon guys (kayo ba talaga yung mga kausap ko?).... ang alam ko makukulit kayo ha... mga harot, mga pasaway. mga. . . . he he. ewan ko lang ha... siguro kaya kayo tamed kasi kaharap ninyo ako. ha! ha! ha!
the topic that night were about family and kids, past hiskul loves, crushes (just couldn't write the details kasi baka magkaiba-iba ang pairing ko kasi mejo tipsy na ko nun nung pinakikinggan ko sila, he he, ang isang sure ako, si miraja pala ang naging gf ni nito testor). and of course we talked about our reunion na hindi matuluy-tuloy. college gimiks were also touched. in that meeting, vic, leonardo alibuyog, eric palac should be there kasi sila ata yung original na pema. if i missed to mention someone, my apologies. malay ko ba sa group na yan noon? i was the only rose among the thorns. la kasing mahagilap na girls. nito, somewhat spearheaded the move to continue our reunion plan. little strategies were created that night... dates were set up to contact 8T1 community residing in roxas (for a start) door to door. i told them that there was little i could do in organizing. i could be consulted in toronto but the implementation must be all done in PI.
we had SMP and SML. (san mig pilsen and san mig lite). we had calamari, tokwa't baboy, nachos i think, and a piece of cake which i couldn't remember if it's carrot or chocolate cake. stayed in that pub until 11 pm. lipat naman kami sa isang pub sana sa west kaya lang we didn't like the ambiance and it was a karaoke place. choosing between karaoke and catching up with each other's lives, we agreed to go to daungan (danarra) in panay avenue. so we continue talking. more smp and sml on our table and grilled squid this time. more family matters were shared especially on the topic of raising teenage children in PI and in north america. mga values na kelangang imbibe sa mga bata..... you see???? serious stuff huh??? he he he... eh sabi ko nga, mga serious yung kausap ko that night. well, next time na uwi ako at sa susunod nating hang out, please lang pakita ninyo yung kulit niyo ha, gaya nung high school. :)
di naman nalango ang aking mga kainuman.... they were still up on their feet when we parted at past 1 am i guess. soooo wonderful, and fun and heart warming to see you guys, dear classmates, again. and i appreciate the effort of meeting up with me despite the busy-ness and the bad weather. si nick ang layo pa ng uuwian... but he made it. very flattering. thank you ever so much!!
gave each of them a well deserved warm hug. . . . na miss ko kayo lam niyo ba yun? high school is one of the links to my younger days. so nung nakita ko kayo, i felt i was young again then when you guys were out of my sight, tumanda ako uli. ha ha......was hoping that we will meet up again before i leave but i already had trouble finding a day to do it because of the other get togethers i needed to attend to.
the street off daungan were lined up with cabs and cab drivers. some were asleep, some were chatting, some were anxiously waiting for passengers. paalaman pa rin kami until
jerry grabbed a cab to send me home . . . .
